Wallpaper hanging
Good wallpaper planning begins before the first drop. Wall condition, pattern repeat and the position of doors, windows and corners shape the brief.
Check the paper and the wall
Send the manufacturer, collection and product reference with your enquiry. Installation instructions, roll dimensions and repeat information help define the work.
Existing wallpaper, uneven surfaces and repairs should be considered before new paper is ordered. Lining and preparation need to be identified in the quotation.
Plan the room as a whole
- Identify full walls, feature walls and any alcoves.
- Discuss the intended pattern position and focal points.
- Include returns, window reveals and difficult access in the scope.
- Confirm quantities and batch information before ordering.
Protect the finished paper
Discuss the paper’s cleaning and care instructions before selecting it for the room. Finish expectations and any natural variation should be agreed from the product information and a sample.
Keep the product reference and any spare material after the work. This makes later maintenance discussions more useful.
Describe the existing covering
Provide photographs of the paper, seams and any loose or damaged areas. Explain whether there are known layers, repaired plaster or staining underneath.
Do not assume the wall beneath is ready for a new finish. Allow the quotation to identify how its condition will be assessed after removal.
Agree the preparation scope
Discuss removal, wall repairs, lining and the final covering as separate parts of the brief. The proposed method should take the substrate and retained details into account.
Where the condition is uncertain, clarify what is included and how additional preparation would be agreed.
